"Cuba Libre"

“Cuba Libre” is one of the legendary Volvo Ocean 60 transatlantic race yachts. She is a Bruce Farr design and CSA rated at 1.158 and IRC rated at 1.335. She has a tremendous pedigree.

In 1999, racing under the guise of Nokia she won the Sydney – Hobart race in a record breaking time of 1 day, 19 hours, 48 minutes and 2 seconds. This beat the previous Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race record, set by Morning Glory in 1996, by just under 19 hours! Nokia’s new record was to stand for 6 years when Wild Oats XI beat it by 1 hour, 8 minutes.

She will be campaigning Regattas and Ocean Racing events in both Europe and The Caribbean, with several trans Atlantic crossings and offshore sailing passages in between.
