Day Sailing Cruises in Antigua

A Day Sailing Charter with us really will be the "Highlight of your Holiday"!

We operate from the west coast of Antigua, where, unlike Falmouth and English harbours on the south coast, we sail on the calm waters of the Caribbean Sea, not the rougher conditions of the Atlantic Ocean. From here we offer private, exclusive, personal and relaxed cruises for groups of up to 12 family and friends. Our 47ft. Ted Brewer designed Classic Ketch "Hawnalea", provides you with the ultimate space to enjoy your day in comfort. You can be confident that your Skipper, Captain Kevin, and his crew, will deliver professional and attentive service at all times.

Kevin is an Antiguan national, and one of our island’s most respected and accomplished skippers. He has been a USCG qualified skipper for over 20 years, and has captained the 85ft power catamaran “Excellence” - with daily responsibility for over 100 passengers - as well as the popular day sailing catamaran “Kokomo Cat”. He is also a certified rescue diver.

He has a wealth of knowledge of his mother island and shares it freely with his guests. He is a true “people person” and delivers a professional and personal service with a huge amount of fun and laughter, as only Kevin can!

Kevin and his crew will delight you with their relaxed and friendly hospitality, as well as their extensive knowledge of Antigua’s history.

There is nothing quite like the experience of being aboard a yacht under sail, particularly when it is cruising the turquoise waters of the stunning west coast of Antigua. This is only a part of the Highlight of your Holiday!

We offer several options to suit your budget and time frame. All include lunch or snacks, drinks, swimming, guided snorkelling, fishing and beach time. Two of our options even include Champagne! Our rates are fully inclusive for your group and there is nothing more to pay.

Once you have been collected by the yacht from one of our two locations, you immediately go sailing. Around lunchtime you slip lazily to anchor for some snorkelling. Using our snorkelling gear, you can drop into the beautiful clear blue water, with our crew as your guide, and explore the wonder of sea life beneath the surface at Antigua’s famous Cades Reef (our "Special Day" cruises) or Prickly Pear Island (our "Super Day" cruises). If water sports are not for you then just remain on the yacht, or laze on the beach, have a drink, and chill - your choice entirely. We also have fishing equipment below decks for those who dream of telling stories of the one that got away!

Lunch will be available at your convenience and you will be offered a delicious array of fresh local specialities and your choice of wine with your meal. Lunch may be served onboard or ashore. Just ask your Captain.

As this is your day, you choose what you would like to do after lunch. You may wish to continue your waterborne activities, explore and relax on the beach, before sailing home to your pick up point.

If you opt for a Sunset or Full Day Cruise, your day will end with Champagne and drinks from our standard bar on board as we watch the sun go down - with maybe a glimpse of the famous “Green Flash”! (Yes, it IS real, we have the picture to prove it!) Then we head home.

Antigua day sailing cruise options

Pickup from, and return to, our base in Jolly Harbour.

SUNSET CRUISE:
3 hours sailing through twilight and the sunset. Your cruise will climax with Champagne, snacks, and rum punch. Cruise times vary with sunset time from 3pm - 6pm and 4pm - 7pm.

MORNING CRUISE:
5 hours sailing our beautiful coastline, with midday snorkelling, followed by a Caribbean style lunch before cruising lazily home. Cruise time: 9:30 am - 2:30pm

HALF DAY CRUISE:
Over 6 hours of leisurely sailing along our spectacular coast line with bay spotting, snorkelling, lunch and beach time. Incredibly lazy and relaxed! Cruise time: 10:30am - 5am.

FULL DAY CRUISE:
8 hours and the ultimate day out combining a Half Day Cruise with a Sunset Cruise. All of the features from both cruises are rolled into one amazing day package. Cruise times vary with sunset time from 10am - 6 pm and 11am - 7pm.

JUST PLAIN SAILING:
3 hours of sailing with no frills or fireworks! This cruise offers a perfect low cost opportunity to view Antigua from the sea and learn about our island, ideal for large groups of family and friends.
Bottled water is included, of course, but feel free to bring your own snacks and refreshments. Cruise times: 9:30am - 12:30pm and 1:30 pm - 4:30pm.

Antigua day sailing cruise options

Pickup from, and return to, Redcliffe Quay in St. John’s.

The Prickly Pear Island Experience is available as Morning, Half Day and Full Day cruises. These options are ideal for Antigua’s north coast hotel guests and cruise ship visitors. Your destination will be Prickly Pear Island off Antigua’s northwest coast.

Live a Robinson Crusoe life for a few hours as you lunch, sunbathe, swim and snorkel all on one idyllic island. Lunch, with drinks is a choice of Caribbean chicken, fish or lobster*, with a selection of salads. Beach loungers and parasols are available.
