RYA Yachtmaster Scheme Caribbean Sailing Skills Level 1

The Antigua & Barbuda Department of Marine Services (ADOMS) have announced they will accept RYA Yachtmaster (Sail) Scheme qualifications as qualifying certificates for the issue of Boatmaster Licences as laid down in the IMO Caribbean Small Commercial Vessel (SCV) Code Annex 11

The scope of cross qualification acceptance will be as follows:

SCV Boatmaster Grade 1 can be granted in general for holders of:

– RYA Advanced Powerboat Certificate commercially endorsed with S.T.C.W. Basic Safety Training (for power boats only). Unfortunately as of right now Second Star Sailing Sailing offers the Advanced Powerboat Certificate only occasionally. We do offer Power Boat Level 2 regularly, which is a necessary step towards the Advanced Level.
