Sailing & Training are what we do at Miramar Sailing School. We have a wonderful environment for teaching in our open air, but covered, waterfront classroom with extensive views over the Antigua hillsides. We enjoy it, and apparently so do our students!

COASTAL SKIPPER & YACHTMASTER THEORY

May 13/16
Vidar

“A friendly and relaxed atmosphere combined with a serious approach to instructing the student. This gave a fun and intensive learning experience. Pippa is an outstanding and patient teacher. Thank you very much. I cannot think of changes to this.” Did we meet Vidar’s expectations? “Yes”

January 30/15
Michael

“Pippa is wonderful, extremely patient and gifted at presenting challenging materials. I feel the week was very challenging because of the quantity of material being reviewed and tested – maybe too much. I don’t think a new student could pass the assessments without prior study or review – just too extensive. I have a “US Sailing” navigation certificate requiring weeks of home study and still I found the course work difficult.” Did we meet Michael’s expectations? “Yes!”

January 30/15
Nick

“A very hard week in the classroom. I feel the course content was delivered patiently and thoroughly by Pippa who was an excellent teacher. Chart work aspect of the course was tough but finally it sunk in. An intense week but very interesting.” Did we meet Nick’s expectations? “Yes”

January 30/15
James

“Although we flew through the course content, I feel that it has sunk in and that Pippa took the time wherever necessary to get everyone up to the same standard.” Did we meet James’ expectations? “Tick”

ctober 30/15
Laura

“It was hard and should be a longer course! But within the time frame Pippa was extremely helpful, patient, lenient & understanding of silly mistakes. Really helpful was going through how to read synoptic charts and going through lights and their “aide memories”. Also TVMDC + Whisky!”

October 30/15
Stuart

“Pip very patient and friendly despite having to repeat herself frequently.”

October 30/15
Alistair

“1) Very intense learning experience but rewarding, 2) By the end of the week very tired but relieved, 3) Further follow up refresher course definitely worth considering in the near term.”

September 9/15
Alistair

“Very hard work but very rewarding – in the end!! Can’t believe how much we have learned.”

September 9/15
Yarna

“Honestly couldn’t of asked for a better instructor, (Pippa) so patient with my learning and really helped me to get through my struggles with great understanding. Thank you so much – for everything!.”
