This race was originated in the sixties by 3 members of the Royal Malta Yacht Club.

Following a uniquely beautiful and challenging course, the Rolex Middle Sea Race is mentioned in the same breath as the top Rolex Fastnet, The Rolex Sydney – Hobart and Newport-Bermuda. It typically attracts a varied fleet of boats and many distinguished sailors many of whom keep returning. It remains on the bucket list of many a sailor.

The 608 nautical mile race – the Mediterranean equivalent of the younger RORC Caribbean 600 – is a highly rated offshore classic with unsurpassed scenery, taking competitors close to a number of islands, which form marks of the course. It is also a true challenge to skippers and crews who have to be at their very best to cope with the often changeable and demanding conditions.
