2 Week Summer Vacation Training – Coastal Skipper

2 Weeks of Combined Vacation & Training to RYA Coastal Skipper – Ref CS2

With Shore Based Theory Training – Recommended Pre-Course experience may be required.

Arrival Day – Welcome evening (Barbeque at Miramar Sailing School, or Crew Dinner Ashore). Self-catered accommodation for the first week in Jolly Harbour Marina Village. The Jolly Harbour complex offers a varied selection of restaurants for dining out, as well as a supermarket and other shops to provide all you might need in your shore based accommodation.

Week 1 – (5 days) Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Theory advanced navigation instruction ashore in the open-air, waterfront classroom at Miramar Sailing School – each evening return to your shore based accommodation and simply relax ‘At Home’ or dine out in the nearby Marina Village.

At the Weekend – (2 days) take time to relax and ‘lime’ – maybe a bit of hiking in the Rain Forest, a guided tour of the Island (not included in Vacation price), or just hang out at one of the many Beach Bar / Restaurants that offer great Antiguan hospitality.

Week 2 – (5 days) Coastal Skipper Practical course – cruise to another Island and experience the thrill of sailing at night, under an incredible canopy of stars, maybe with a visit from some dolphins to add to the experience! Take charge as Skipper for one of the passages and discover the challenge of arriving in an unknown harbour for the first time. Hone your sailing skills and increase your confidence in handling a yacht under sail and under power. On completion of this course you earn the RYA Coastal Skipper Certificate.

At the end of the course return to Jolly Harbour and spend another 2 nights in shore-based accommodation to make the most of your time in Antigua – Take a tour to some of the Island attractions or spend more time “chillin’ “ on the beach – The choice is yours!

Minimum 2 people – possible yacht share.
Maximum 4 people – private and exclusive yacht occupancy.

Week 1 – (5 days) – Coastal Skipper Practical course – cruise to another Island as with Week 2 above.

Week 2 – (7days) – A week of cruising and building on the experience of the Coastal Skipper Course, but this time with a more relaxed feel – more time to take excursions ashore, maybe go snorkeling or diving, just generally Caribbean Cruising at a more leisurely pace! This would be an ‘extension’ to the course – returning to Antigua on the 12th day after departure. Catered accommodation on board the yacht.

On return to Jolly Harbour there will be self catered accommodation for the last 2 nights of your vacation.

Minimum 2 people – possible yacht share.
Maximum 4 people – private and exclusive yacht occupancy.

Note: Any meals taken ashore will be at guests expense.
