Annual Event held in August

In non Fastnet years RORC organise a long distance race in August. In 2016 they introduce the first year of the RORC Cowes to Ushant Race.

The course will cross the English Channel, heading for the Western Approaches. The turning point is the French Island of Ushant which lies at the join of the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay. Yachts will then head East navigating the tricky and tactical waters of North Brittany which involve some of the strongest tides in Europe. The second half of the race will be coastal and scenic and will lead the fleet to the finish in St. Malo in France.

For many boats that are competing in the RORC Fastnet Race, this race is an important qualifier, and forms part of the RORC Ushant Campaign in which it is the final leg.
