Annual Event held in July

The RORC Channel Race is a race over approximately 125 nm that is set according to wind and tide. It starts and finishes in the Solent, after racing west to Poole, and is a popular weekend race.

Sometimes The RORC Channel Race is an extended Round the Island Race with additional legs depending on the wind strength. Although in site of land for the whole race, the complex tides of the Solent and the South Coast and multiple opportunities for windward leeward legs create a sailing challenge for both crew and navigator.

For many boats that are competing in the RORC Fastnet Race, the RORC Channel Race is an important qualifier, and forms part of the RORC Ushant Campaign
