If the dates you are interested in are not shown please email us for availability of a yacht and instructor and we will set the course up for you.
This package is for students wishing to achieve either of the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore qualifications obtained by independent examination.
Experienced sailors can take the RYA/MCA examination for these qualifications at any time. There is no pre-requisite to hold any prior qualifications. However, the Qualifying Criteria is different for each grade and candidates must hold the SRC (VHF) Radio Operators Certificate and an acceptable First Aid Certificate.
Our experience of Yachtmaster examinations has taught us that it is very important for candidates to be completely up to date with their theory knowledge. The examiner will stand at the backstay, set tasks, and fire random theory questions, and expect you to be as confident with the theory as you are at boat handling.
Our pre-examination Yachtmaster Preparation Week consist of 1 day of assessment of skills, followed by 4 days of focusing and honing weak areas. It also serves to familiarize candidates with the yacht they will be examined on, and the crew they will be working with. Candidates should come to us as potential Yachtmasters. This is not a Yachtmaster course, it is Yachtmaster preparation.
This package is highly recommended to all Yachtmaster candidates.

Option 1:
- RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore Online Theory – 50/60 hour Online Theory Course delivered by Navathome
- Yachtmaster Preparation Week – 5 days of skills assessment and practice
- Yachtmaster Examination – 2 days
PACKAGE COST: €2225,00. Exam fee not included as it is paid directly to the examiner.
Optional Online Course
We are pleased to advise we work closely with Navathome. For the delivery of all RYA Online Theory Courses.
Before opting for the lower cost Online option please consider the considerable benefits of face to face, real time teaching which offers the significant benefit of being able to ask questions and receive immediate answers. This is particularly important at this level.
Option 2:
- RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Offshore Classroom Theory – Personal “face to face” tuition in our open air waterfront classroom. Such is the importance to us of our students achieving success under examination, we prefer to coach them through their Yachtmaster training personally.
- Yachtmaster Preparation Week – 5 days of skills assessment and practice
- Yachtmaster Examination – 2 days
PACKAGE COST: €2725,00. Exam fee not included as it is paid directly to the examiner.
Course Schedule: 09:00 to 17:30 daily.
What do I get for this? – Inclusions are the same as for courses booked individually.
Availability: Classroom Theory takes place on the first Sunday in each month. However, for examinations, examiners will not examine less than 2 candidates.
