Our location in Antigua allows us to offer several options for Mile & Experience Building around the Caribbean. Our association with our Race Charter Partners introduces further exciting opportunities to sail on some fantastic race yachts, not only in the Caribbean but also in Europe, the Mediterranean and Transatlantic. Whatever your levels of skill and knowledge are you will never stop learning when it comes to sailing. The only way to learn is to get out there and do it!
It is, of course, beneficial to go out on your own or with friends and learn from your mistakes. However, it is even more beneficial when you are being guided by a highly qualified Yachtmaster Instructor or Professional Racing Skipper. They have years of experience they are only too happy to pass on.
These sailing adventures are offered to give more experience, and build miles in logbooks, to enable the progression through the RYA Yachtmaster Scheme to achieve recommended mileage criteria.
Miramar Sailing Mile Building
- Mile & Experience Building – Leeward Islands (non tidal) 1 Week. Approximately 150nm.
- Mile & Experience Building – The Grenadines (tidal) 3 Weeks minimum, 6 Weeks maximum. Between 1,250 & 2,500nm.

Not only will you build Miles & Experience on these fantastic pedigree racing yachts but you will do it with speed, excitement and adventure!
Green Dragon is normally based in the northern end of the Adriatic Sea. Every year she competes in all the major Mediterranean Events before crossing the Atlantic to be a major force in our Caribbean Regatta Calendar. When that season is over she goes back to the Mediterranean.
Challenger is based in Nova Scotia but also crosses the Atlantic to compete in major European Events and Mediterranean Events. Similarly, she then sails back across the Atlantic to also join our Caribbean Circuit.
It goes without saying that when these yachts are not competing they are sailing between these regions in which they race.
The opportunities to build miles & experience on them are almost endless.
We will teach you the technicalities of sailing and navigation, and we will also pass on our experience!
