On May 9th, 2011, Brian & Pippa will lead a flotilla of other cruising yachts and sailors to sail in company on the “Classic Rum Cruise”. Together we set sail to explore the beautiful islands of Guadeloupe, Iles des Saintes, Marie Galante, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia.
On the way we shall visit some of the fascinating and historic distilleries that continue to produce the Traditional Rum Blends that are so popular with visitors to the Caribbean. These distilleries range from the vintage to the modern and the whole range of methods and equipment will be seen and explained in detail by their knowledgeable guides.
Following the success of the 2008; 2009 and 2010 Classic Rum Cruises, with the fun and enjoyment they brought to the crews of the several yachts that participated, Brian & Pippa are offering a couple the unique and low cost opportunity to join them on the 2011 event as friends and crew rather than official charter guests. Many new places will be seen and many new friendships formed.
For 2011, our cruise begins on Monday May 9th and ends in St. Lucia 14 days later. However, there are 3 options after that. You could fly home from St. Lucia, remain with Miramar as she makes her way back to Antigua over the 3 days that follow at no extra charge, or, should we decide, extend your cruise by another week or two as we make our way down to The Grenadines for even more sailing and adventure.
Catering costs, immigration and port dues will be approached on an “equal share” basis between the four of us. This gives flexibility and choice for meals on board or ashore.
This offer is open to ALL irrespective of previous sailing experience. Your highly qualified skippers will ensure your safety and enjoyment at all times.

What's included?
- Your yacht with 2 highly qualified skippers as crew.
- A complimentary welcome meal at Al Porto’s restaurant.
- Up to 17 days on board with the final 3 at no charge.
- Fuel and water. We start with full tanks of both but refills en route are on a shared cost basis.
- Snorkelling equipment.
- Fishing equipment.
- Guided tours of the Rum Distilleries.
- Collection from, and return to, VC Bird Airport.
- Complimentary Rum Cruise Crew "T" Shirts.
What's not included?
- All catering. This is done on a shared cost basis with Brian & Pippa.
- Alcoholic beverages – stock as you choose.
- Port Dues and Immigration charges.
- Crew gratuity – 10-15% of charter fee is usual. This is gratefully received but NOT obligatory!
- Excursions ashore.
- Flights to and from Antigua.
