If you love the sea, fresh clean air, and being at one with the elements and your surroundings in complete peace and tranquillity, you will love sailing. You may already be a sailor and have a partner you wish to introduce to sailing so they can enjoy your passion with you.
To many, learning to sail is nothing more than a dream. The perceived technicalities, the skills involved and strange terminology that has evolved over many centuries of nautical history, appear daunting to some.
Learning to sail is no more difficult than learning to drive, and practically everyone has mastered that! All the same skills are involved. Controls, Rules of the Road, Navigation, Engineering, and Instruments are all as much a part of sailing as they are driving. The fundamental difference is that you do not need fuel to move forward, you harness the freedom of the wind. It is positively exhilarating!
In our “Learn to Sail” holiday we aim to teach you the fundamentals and remove any taboos you may have on the subject. The theory is explained; the practicalities are demonstrated and practised, and as your holiday progresses the whole mystery unravels!
This is a “Taster Course”. You will not have to sit any exams, and there will be no formal qualification at the end, but you will possess the knowledge and confidence that will benefit you tremendously if you pursue formal training.
If that isn’t enough, you will also enjoy a superb holiday on the Caribbean Sea exploring the beautiful coastline of Antigua. Plenty of warm sun, blue waters, and above all loads of FUN!
Learn to Sail with Miramar Sailing, you will love it!
The wind, the waves, the clean fresh air, together they all take me there.
Where is “there”? I hear you say. “There” is where I am today!
Sailing fast and sailing free, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be!
