We are Wayne and Lara and are your hosts for your Special Day sail in Antigua. We will be delighted to welcome you aboard our beautiful yacht “Cool Cat” and do everything possible to bring you professional and personal service of the highest quality.
We are a South African couple with a love of life and entertaining people. Like Brian & Pippa, the founders of Miramar Sailing, we have settled in Antigua, with our family, to enjoy the superb sun and sailing conditions the Caribbean has to offer. We are true “people people” as many of our past charter guests will confirm!
Wayne is an extremely experienced and qualified yachtsman with 11 Atlantic crossings behind him and many years as a Professional Charter Yacht and Delivery Skipper. During his career he has sailed extensively throughout the Caribbean and, since childhood, the vast majority of the wild waters of South Africa. He is qualified as an Offshore Yachtmaster with the Royal Yachting Association of Great Britain (RYA), the most internationally recognised sailing authority in the world. He is also a PADI qualified Dive Master and, for the first time, brings to Miramar Sailing the opportunity for SCUBA Diving cruises.
Lara has been a talented chef from the age of 9! It was inevitable she would embark on a career in cooking and entertaining and she chose to bring her skills to the world of sailing. She shares a love of diving and the sea with Wayne. She has been a Professional Hostess for the past 4 years, and you can be sure she will cater for your every need and serve the most interesting and delicious lunches, canapés and cocktails that will excite your taste buds beyond belief.
Together we make a fun loving couple who know how to deliver what you need. We will “Make Your Day Special”.
